The STI5202GUD from STMicroelectronics is a highly integrated single-chip video decoder designed to cater to the advanced demands of modern multimedia applications. This chip features a robust ST40 CPU core operating at 266 MHz, compatible with Linux®, Windows® CE, and OS21, making it versatile for various software environments. It supports sophisticated video decoding capabilities for formats such as VC-1, H.264 (MPEG-4 part 10), and MPEG-2, ensuring broad media compatibility. Additionally, the STI5202GUD is equipped with transport filtering and descrambling, aligning with secure video processing requirements and SVP compliance, along with support for Windows Media™ DRM.

Beyond its core processing capabilities, the STI5202GUD boasts a range of embedded interfaces to enhance connectivity and functionality. These include a USB 2.0 host controller with a PHY interface, DVI/HDMI™ output for high-definition video displays, and digital audio and video auxiliary inputs. It also features a low-cost modem and a 100BT ethernet controller with an integrated MAC and MII/RMII interface for external PHY connections, facilitating network connectivity and data transfer.
