GALVANTECH
Galvantech Inc., a company specializing in the design and manufacturing of Static Random-Access Memory (SRAM) and digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits, was acquired by Cypress Semiconductor Corporation in March 2000.
Founded in 1994 and based in Santa Clara, California, Galvantech was known for its ultra-high-performance memory products, particularly synchronous networking SRAMs. The integration of Galvantech’s technology enabled Cypress to enhance its SRAM offerings, a segment that accounted for slightly more than half of Cypress’s 1999 revenues. The acquisition provided Cypress with larger megabit and faster speed SRAMs, complementing its existing product portfolio.
