Actel
Actel, founded in 1985 and headquartered in San Jose, became a well-known American company recognized for its reliable non-volatile, low-power antifuse FPGAs and programmable logic devices. The company was acquired by Microsemi in 2010. In 2000, Actel strengthened its antifuse FPGA portfolio by acquiring GateField. By 2004, it had shipped its one-millionth flash-based ProASIC PLUS FPGA, marking a significant milestone. In 2005, Actel launched Fusion technology, the first to integrate mixed-signal features with FPGA programmability. A year later, it introduced the IGLOO FPGA family built on flash technology, followed by the IGLOO PLUS FPGA and the IGLOO nano FPGA in 2008, offering advanced low-power solutions for a wide range of applications.
