On January 22, 2001, Marvell Technology Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: MRVL), a leader in the development of advanced broadband DSP-based mixed-signal integrated circuits for communication signal processing markets, announced the acquisition of Israel-based Galileo Technology Ltd. (Galileo).
Galileo, a prominent supplier of high-performance integrated circuit devices for LAN, MAN, and WAN markets, is recognized as one of the fastest-growing companies in the semiconductor industry. Following the acquisition, Galileo became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marvell Technology Group Ltd., continuing its operations in Manof, Israel, and San Jose, California.
