In 2011, ON Semicoconductor acquired Sanyo Semiconductor for $366 million, which expanded and enhanced ON Semicoconductor's product portfolio and added new production capacity, including microcontrollers for consumer, automotive, and industrial end markets, custom application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), integrated power modules, and automotive control devices.
